The 2027 candidate for Surulere I Federal Constituency in Lagos State under the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Adefolaseye Adebayo, has alleged that there is a plot to exclude the party from participating in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
In a post on her X handle on Saturday,Adebayo stated that some people were attempting to make sure that the NDC was not on the ballot for the House of Representatives seat.
“I got information that some group of people are planning to make sure that NDC does not appear on the ballot for the Surulere I Federal Constituency.
“I’m calling on the INEC chairman to take note,” she said.
According to her, similar thing happened in 2023 when the Labour Party was prevented from appearing on the ballot in the Surulere I House of Representatives election.
She accused the party’s candidate at the time of working with those allegedly responsible for the exclusion, adding that no consequences followed the action.
