The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Rivers State has claimed that the only benefit the state has received from President Bola Tinubu’s administration was the six-month state of emergency imposed on it.
The party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Chizy Enyi, made the claim in a video shared on his Facebook page on Sunday.
Enyi accused Tinubu of abandoning Rivers State after securing victory in the 2023 presidential election, only to return to solicit votes as the 2027 general election approaches.
According to him, the President had not visited the state since assuming office in 2023, either personally or through a representative, until his recent visit.
He said, “Yesterday, President Bola Tinubu visited Rivers State to ask for our votes as the 2027 general election is fast approaching.
“It will interest you to know that since Tinubu became President in 2023, he has not visited Rivers State, not even in a representative capacity.
“The only thing everybody can attest that he did for us was to remain in Abuja and declare a state of emergency, which made Rivers people lose six months of democratic rule.
“What did Rivers people do to him? Nothing! Just to favour his boys.”
DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu was in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Saturday for a campaign rally ahead of the January 16 election.
